Koodo Mobile? Fat-free Mobility?
Noticed recently there is a new wireless network appeared in many major shopping centers in Canada. The name of the company is called Koodo Mobile. It has a funny name and its brochures look even funnier. They feature models dress in gym suits that make them look like they are in the 80’s.

Are They Going To Exist After A Few Years?
They do have a silly name and funny brochures, but they are serious about their offerings. Their monthly plans don’t require you to sign a contract at all. If you are willing to buy out the phones (only 3 models as of now), you can have their monthly combo deals or make your own combo of features. Their plans start as low as $15. I like their $65 combo, which gives you unlimited incoming calls, 1000 weekday minutes, unlimited evenings and weekends (starts at 7pm). The most amazing thing is they don’t make you pay the system access fee. That is a first in Canada and their plans beat all other major wireless networks. I believe they are going to be in there for a while.
Is It Going To Take Over The Wireless Industry In Canada?
They will cause a storm in the wireless industry. What they are doing now is going to change the wireless service in Canada. Their approach is a first and most consumers are waiting for a flexible service like that. The only downside is that they use CDMA instead of GSM and are piggybacking on the Telus network. If they started by offering their own network with GSM, they would take over the whole industry by storm.
